Sell my Silver Miniatures and Figurines for the most money at Sterling Silver Buyers
Silver Figurines and Miniatures Collection

Sell my Silver Miniatures and Figurines for the most money at Sterling Silver Buyers Do you have a collection of sterling silver miniatures that you want to sell? Look no further. Sterling silver buyers is actively buying all silver miniatures and figurines.

The prices we can pay are based on the following variables:

  1. The Purity - If the piece is 800 fine (80% silver) it will be a lower price than a piece that is 925 sterling silver.

  2. How well marked or signed the piece is - If you piece is fully hallmarked with a sterling, 925, 800 or other known silver purity mark then it will go for more money than a piece that is completely unmarked. Customers want pieces that are marked and if not marked and just "tested as silver" then they will either shy away from the pieces or want to purchase at a much lower level. It's possible to stamp unmarked pieces, but these after the fact marks are typically obvious and customers usually know the difference.

  3. Aesthetic - There are certain type of pieces that are always in high demand like animals, trains, planes, vehicles, boats, some Asian pieces and so forth. If the piece is in a popular category it will go for more money.

  4. Solid versus Puffy - If the piece is solid silver and is not hollow or worse yet filled, then it will be worth more money.

  5. Size - If you have solid piece (not filled or hollow) the large pieces tend to fetch more money. So in example if you a have 6" long alligator versus just a 2" alligator, your longer one will be evaulated at a higher rate per gram or troy ounce than what a smaller piece would be.

  6. Condition - If your miniature has moving parts that are in disrepair or if there are problems like major dings or dents then you can expect a lower price.

  7. Finish and Patina - If the item has a nice patina and doesn't need a lot of polishing you will typically get more money.

  8. Mixed Metal or Partial Gilt or Enameled - If your item has duo or multiple metal finishes be it through intentional oxidation, enameling, gold plated accents or applied pieces of gold, then you will definitely see more money than just a plain silver piece.

  9. Heavy Chasing Work - If the piece has a lot of hand chasing work and the details are incredible then this will typically add value.

  10. Better Makers - If the pieces are made by Buccellati, Tiffany, Faberge, Medusa de Oro, and some English Makers then you are usually looking at more money.

Conclusion - Most figurines and miniatures will be worth at least a slight premium more than just the going scrap out rate that most dealers are paying. Some pieces that have that look of awesomeness in craftsmanship and aesthetic quality can definitely go for higher. The only downside on some of these smaller items is that there will a much higher percentage of expenses involved with these in association with photography, time writing descriptions, getting weights and measurements. The items don't just fly off the shelves and can take weeks, months or years to eventually sell. If a dealer buyers one item for $2,000.00 for resale versus an item at $50 piece for resale, the time spent on doing one over the other is almost equal, so on a smaller item the labor and overhead costs must be factored in more prominently in the ask/sell price for the deaer/seller to actually come out ahead and make a profit. A $50 item can easily cost $15 in labor and expenses to prepare and market and that's not even counting the 7-15% that Ebay or Etsy or Shopify would also take if listed on one of those platforms. So, if you are liquidating a moderate to large collection of these and want to sell to a dealer like us, just keep your expectations reasonable in factoring in all the extra work that will be involved for marketing all these smaller types of items.
